Jordan Mercer of Oneida, NY was named Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month for January as a Herkimer Generals swimmer. Mercer helped the women's team finish first and second overall in their three January meets, placing in the top five in eight of her ten events. Her top event was the 200 yd breaststroke, where she placed second and third. She also placed third and fourth in the 100 yd breaststroke. HERKIMER, NY Herkimer Generals swimmer Jordan Mercer of Oneida, NY was named
Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month for January. Mercer, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: Generals Studies major at Herkimer College, helped the womens program to a first and second overall finish in her teams three January meets, capturing Top 5 finishes in eight of her 10 events competed in. Mercers top event was the 200 yd. Breaststroke, placing second at Monroe (3:07.50) and third at Genesee (3:07.50). She was also exceptional in the 100 yd. Breaststroke, collecting another third (1:27.42) and fourth (1:26.57) place finish at Jamestown and Genesee. Jordan is an ideal student-athlete said Head Swimming & Diving Coach Vicki Brown. She comes to practice each day with a positive attitude and a quiet confidence. She puts in the work and as a result, has continued to improve throughout the course of the season. During the month of January, Jordan swam personal best times in the 100 Freestyle, 50 yd. Freestyle, and 200 yd.
