Dear Principal/Superintendent,
I am excited to hear about the elementary teaching positions with possibility of coaching posted in your
school district. I am seeking a new full-time employment opportunity as an elementary education teacher
for the 2016-2017 school year and it would be a privilege to be able to contribute to your school as a
member of your staff.
I am currently teaching Scribner-Snyder Community Schools in Scribner, NE. I am the 6 th grade
classroom instructor and assistant girls basketball coach. I graduated from Mount Marty College in
Yankton, SD where I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in 2009. I previously spent five years at
Hayes Center, NE where I spent the first four years as the 6 th grade teacher before changing roles to Title
1. Ive also had the opportunity to coach multiple sports, observe or cover classes from Kindergarten to
High School History, judge speech meets, and be a part of a co-op sports program.
As a teacher I feel its vital to continue to grow and expand your experience in many different ways. The
world of education is constantly changing and shifting. During my four years at Mount Marty, I was
fortunate to receive an athletic scholarship to play on the volleyball team. Learning how to prioritize my
time between academics and athletics was definitely a challenge, but it also taught me many valuable lifelong lessons. Time management, responsibility, teamwork and leadership are all characteristics I gained
during my time in college and have since continued to use in my classroom and coaching.
I believe it takes more than a single individual to make a difference in the lives of students. Therefore, I
have learned the importance of communicating with colleagues, parents, and administrators so that we
will be able to provide the best education for our students. Please contact me at your earliest convenience
