What is real news? in class write

Real news gives facts and both sides of the story without bias. There is a
problem with real news and the way it is structured because most of these
so called real news stations have biases and most times dont give both
sides of the story. The law that required holders of broadcast licenses both
present controversial issues of public importance and do so in a manner that
was honest, equitable and balanced; The Fairness Doctrine. The Fairness
Doctrine was introduced in 1944 eliminated by the FCC in 1987, it had two
components to it. The first of the components being that broadcasters must
devote some of their airtime to discussing controversial matters and the
second being to air contrasting views regarding those matters. They could do
this through News segments, Public Affairs shows, or editorials. Now news
media isnt required to stand by these components and news has become
more entertainment and bias based than anything else.
