How to build a bench with a

snowboard

Material

2 x identical wine wooden crates


1 x screw driver
1 x old snowboard 159 cm long
1 x measuring meter
2 x paint brushes
1 x electric driller
1 x 400 mL pot of Quick drying wood stain varnish
6 screws
A few sheets of journal paper to protect the table
while painting

Protect the table with sheets of newspaper.


Put the crates on the newspaper.
Open the varnish pot carefully with a screw driver.
Stir the varnish with a brush until it becomes
homogeneous.
5. Apply the varnish on the crates using the brushes

6. Let the varnish dry for 12 hours
7. Repeat steps 5 & 6 for another layer of varnish.
8. Position the crates side by side, 53 cm apart.

Note: this is important in order to ensure correct weight support

9. Put the snowboard on the crates and adjust the
position to obtain 35cm on each side.

9. Use the holes of the snowboards binding inserts to


find the holes position on the crates and drill 6
holes. (note: this should be done by an adult)

11. Insert screws in the holes and tight them securely.
12. Test the strength of the bench as follows:
a. Test1: sit on the bench to assess stability
b. Test2: 1 person holds the snowboard and another pulls
on the crates to assess solidity.

The bench is ready to use!
