About the concert of 12 May:


""When I said that I'm gonna play music, which has officially been banned in
USSR since 30's, I heard some muttering in the hall. I'm convinced that in this
moment most of the students asked themselves a question - to stay or to leave. I
managed to keep control over the situation, in spite of a disapproving atmosphere".
A few elderly professors left the hall - as a sign of a protest, as Gould thought"
