Hi, friends.

In my dictionary (Longman) "kill" is to make a person or animal die


, and "kill off" is cause the death of a lot of living things. So in the documen
tary that I'm watching, Is the "kill off" use, in the picture, retoric? I unders
tand that a man can "kill", but a plague can "kill off". The documentary narrato
r says "it (a plague) kill off... [two people]". Although we know that he use th
e plague word (when he says "it") and that it kill a lot of things, could he onl
y use "kill"? Because he says that the plague kill only two people. What do you
think? I hope you can help me. Thanks.
