symbols.

bottom orientation.

Linguistic
- concentration on pragmatics,
semantics, syntax and other elements
of language.

Cognitive
- utilization of cognitive abilities to
facilitate recognition and understanding
of printed or written text.

Critical reading
- relevancy and adequacy of what one
reads.

Creative Reading
- relating ideas and information read
to ones experience or problem.

Association
- the ability of the readers to
associate objects and ideas, spoken
language and print.

Affective
- emotional activities or feelings
while one reads.

Socio
- factors like social standing,
education, income and position.

Constructive
- the readers experience and
prior knowledge are developed from
cultural and societal goals of all
their learning.

Cultural
- childrens linguistic, cognitive
and affective learning and
development from infancy up to
present.
