Respected Hiring Manager,

I would like to be considered for the position of office assistant at the Office of Disability Services as
indicated in the mail I received from the office.
I am a graduate student in mechanical engineering at Rutgers University. I am pursing my Master of
Science degree here and have a CGPA of 3.62. I have one year of industrial experience in Volkswagen
India where my job comprised of both technical and administrative work such as setting up meetings
with various departments and handling all the paperwork related to it. I was in charge of checking
quality standards of the cars, noting any deviations, analyzing them, implementing solutions, taking
feedback and presenting my findings and course of action to superiors.
In high school I was the head boy of my school which required me to interact with a lot of people and
address the students to convey important notices and announcements.
I have been a proctor at ODS since Fall 2014 and I have worked in the office as a permanent proctor for
filing and aiding the office in any way possible. I have seen the work an office assistant is required to do
and believe that I would be good at it.
I have a variety of administrative skills, knowledge and experiences which uniquely qualifies me for this
position:
I am well-versed in performing necessary clerical functions: reception, filing, mail management,
typing, maintaining schedules, and managing calendars and diary
I am skilled in using a variety of office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
I follow orders without complain and Im always eager to learn new tasks and computer applications
with confidence and easiness
I believe in completing any task given to me efficiently and such that it wont need any revisions.
I am enclosing a copy of my resume, which demonstrates my leadership, organizational, analytical
thinking skills and team spirit. I look forward to hearing from you. You can reach me during the day on
848-391-8604 or at sahil.dange@rutgers.edu.
