Free port trading, high value-added services, industrialization,
Transparent and efficient bureaucracy attract FDI, MNCs
The government plays the important role of regulating
restrictions on resources on which businesses make decision.
Singapore Western relationship is multilateral now.
Although Singapore is competitive, it is vulnerable due to its
dependence on exports, FDI and MNCs, much of which are USowned.
Western influence is, thus, prevalent. But, they do not
necessarily mean benefits. They depends

Singapore did benefit from Western influence in some
aspects.
However, Western influence may help shape the
foundation of economic growth via those practices, they
do not play a role as significant as that of the
government in contributing to economic growth
Western influence may have a damaging effects or
benefits for the nation depending on specific
circumstances.
