Abortion Rights
The right to an abortion compromises the choice of life of innocent fetus and should be
illegal. It should be illegal because it is ending a life, it is evil and not a pro choice, and it is a
very unsafe procedure to have done on a woman. There may be many reasons why women have
abortions like rape, health problems with the fetus, or someone is too young to become a mother.
All these reasons are good ones, but having an abortion is still not the answer.
Abortion is ending a human life. Every new life begins at conception, which is a fact of
biology. Any woman who has felt a baby stir inside her and any man who has seen the tiny
heart pulsing on an ultrasound screen knows that abortion is about ending a life (Ritchie). Just
the thought of killing a little baby sickens me to where I can not even think straight. It makes my
stomach turn inside out to be honest. Abortion is not a difficult decision because it should not
even be a decision at all. It should not even come across our minds. People are ending human
lives left and right everyday and the fact that someone would think of killing an innocent baby
that has not even had a chance to live yet is repulsive.
Having an abortion is evil and not a pro-choice. Since legalization of abortion in 1973,
over 57 million unborn children have been killed, which is more than the entire population of
Spain. That is 155 baby's per hour. About 1 every 24 seconds (TFP students). If someone thinks
that is okay, then they are totally wrong. I still can not get over the fact that abortion is legal to
this day because of how wrong it is. People need to respect lives more and care for them more

because people are taking lives for granted every single day. A life is a precious gift and killing it
off is a heartless thing to do. Many people would agree with that. Not to mention, there are many
Christians in this world and everyone has to at least believe we came from somewhere. God
intended for each child to be on this earth and to take that away is offending Him. The antiabortion struggle has always been a religious battle and foremost in its ranks have been Catholics
across the country (Ritchie). Churches all around teach that abortion is murder and that there
are no exceptions allowed to it. In the bible, on Deuteronomy 30:19 it says, I call heaven and
earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and
cursing therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live. This verse is speaking about
abortion and talking about how choice is in our hands, and so are responsibilities. Even if people
dont believe in God, abortion still is not the answer.
In other words, abortion is very unsafe. At least 347 women are killed by legal abortions
since 1973 (TFP Students). In fact, abortions are very dangerous, for example after having one,
31% of women have health complications that include hemorrhage, shock infection, anesthesia
complications, and 65% report post-traumatic stress (Abortion is the unchoice). Many women
might not even be able to have children anymore after theyve had an abortion. Getting an
abortion is a very serious thing to have done because many complications can happen in this
process. People can prevent these things from happening if they just do not have abortions.
Some reasons why people have abortions are because of rape, health problems with the
fetus, or someone is too young to be a mother. These are major reasons to have one, but there is
always an answer, there is no exception on having one. Rape is an awful and frightful thing. I
cannot say I know what it is like to be raped because it has never happened to me, but if someone
ends up pregnant from rape, that does not give someone an excuse to have an abortion, the baby

is still a part of the woman. People can always give the child away for adoption. If the child is
going to have health issues, that does not give someone a reason to have an abortion either.
People should love their child no matter what complications there are. The mother might have
even caused these complications with the baby, so in other words, its the mother's fault, but
there is always a solution. Also, girls could possibly be too young to become a mother. They may
not be financially ready to take care of baby, but that does not give them an excuse to have an
abortion either. As I mentioned before, adoption is another answer. It is a way to give the child a
better home and a life the biological mother may have not been able to give.
With all this being said, I am for abortion being illegal all around the United States. I do
not think it is fair to kill an innocent baby that has not gotten the chance to experience what this
world has to give. Having responsibilities is a part of life and we all have to have them.
Becoming a parent is a big responsibility. I am not a parent, but from what I have seen, it looks
pretty tough to become one. So, if people arent ready for those kind of responsibilities, then they
shouldn't be making choices that leads them to those responsibilities. Some people do not like
the thought of adoption because another person is taking care of their child, but that person most
likely will give the child a much better home than the parents could give at the time. Adoption is
not a bad choice, it solves many problems unlike abortion. Adoption is not the only choice
though, there are plenty more. But, I do believe that God put us on this earth for a reason and
responsibilities definitely came with it. Responsibilities are what make us into adults and we all
have to grow up one day.
