Evolution Series
4-40 GHz
Evolution Series
One wireless pipe for both Ethernet and TDM traffic in a Split Mount or Indoor installation.
Flexible and scalable with built-in X-connect and a variety of configuration options from
single ended terminals to traffic nodes with multiple radio link directions. Managed by Nera
Networks NetMaster, a standard web-browser or a general SNMP manager. One platform for
all needs simplifies logistics and dramatically reduces life cycle cost.

Evolution Series
ODU
For non-protected and protected configurations, the ODU is either
integrated or remotely connected to the antenna (integrated solution for
1+0, 1+1 and 2+0). A single coaxial cable is used to connect each ODU to
the IFU up to 300 m apart.
LONG HAUL BRANCHING SYSTEM
The long haul system has a low loss branching system where up to 10
channels can be combined on one waveguide port. A dual polarised
system with XPIC and Space Diversity with IF combining is also featured.
The terminal is either All Indoor with both IFUs and XCVRs in a 19 rack or
Split Mounted with the IFU indoor and the Branching and XCVR outdoor.
UNIVERSAL IFU
The baseband part of the terminal is based on one or several IFUs. The
Universal IFU has plug-in units making the system very scalable and
capable of meeting the interface and configuration needs. Terminal
configurations range from 1+0 or Hot StandBy (HSB) to 7+1 or traffic nodes
with up to four link directions. Interfaces include E1, E3, STM-1, STM-4,
FE, GbE and Auxiliary interfaces. The Universal IFU can be configured to
METRO mode (SDH) or the Hybrid Ethernet and TDM mode XPAND.
ACCESS IFU
The Access IFUs for XPAND has fixed interfaces and supports capacities
from 8 to 100 Mb/s. This capacity is flexibly shared between E1 and
Ethernet as needed. Non-protected and HSB-protected configurations are
possible. Systems using these units are over the air compatible with the
Universal IFU when configured consistently.
RADIO UNITS
The Transceiver units are frequency and data-rate agile. Each Transceiver
can be used for all channels in a frequency band and for all capacities in
both the METRO and XPAND modes. The same XCVR is used both in ODU
configuration with broadband diplexer and Long Haul configurations
which features a low loss RF channel branching solution.
