AIR CONDITIONING
INTRODUCTION
The air conditioning system supplies airflow to the cockpit and passenger cabin for ventilation and cabin pressurization. It also controls
the temperature and decreases the humidity of the cockpit and cabin
air.
DESCRIPTION
The figure AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - MAIN COMPONENT
LOCATIONS shows the location of the main components of the
system.
The figure and table AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM - CONTROLS
AND INDICATORS show the positions and functions of the controls
and indications.
The AIR CONDITIONING includes this (these) subsystem(s):
DISTRIBUTION ................................................................. (21-20)
PRESSURIZATION CONTROL ........................................ (21-30)
COOLING ......................................................................... (21-50)

Pushed
Controls the left ECU in the AUTO mode through the Digital Temperature
Controller (DTC). The cockpit temperature can be selected between 18oC
and 29oC (65oF and 85oF).
Pulled
Controls the left ECU in MANUAL mode through the Temperature Control
Module (TCM). The duct temperature is limited between 3oC and 71oC
(37oF and 160oF).
Pushed
Controls the right ECU in the AUTO mode through the Digital Temperature
Controller (DTC). The cabin temperature can be selected between 18oC
and 29oC (65oF and 85oF). When fully rotated counterclockwise transfers
the temperature control to the attendant panel.
Pulled
Controls the right ECU in MANUAL mode through the Temperature Control
Module (TCM). The duct temperature is limited between 3oC and 71oC

Controls the right ECU in AUTO mode through the DTC. Selects
temperature between 18oC and 29oC (65oF and 85oF). For this, the pax
cabin Temperature/Mode Selector (Ref. 2) must be set to the ATTD position.
Shows that the flight attendant has control over the temperature selection.
Permits the opening of the left pack valve.
Permits the closing of the left pack valve.
