The actor showed that the effect of science on the society and the effect of society on an individual. Stephen Hawking does not believe in god. In the movie, it was clear why he didnt. His research took him to a point that he started to lose the belief of god. It also should be mentioned that he was affected by Lou Gehrigs disease, in other word motor neuron disease at only age of 26. The doctor told him that he had only 2 years to live. And he was hopeless about his life. Thats where sociology showed its true power. His wife Jane Hawking took care of him and gave him hope. And also his parents and his friends treated him like he was just like them, though actually Stephen seemed like a cripple or we can say worse than that. But he got his hope and now he is 73 years old.
