Discrimination is a well-known problem that is spread around the

world, yet nothing is done against it. Every year, a large number
of people suffer from discrimination in Great Britain not only at
their job, but also in their daily lives just because of their roots.
For example, Romanians are very badly treated in the U.K.
because of stereotypes that are implemented not only by the
citizens, but also by important political figures such as the mayor
of London Boris Johnson who called Romanians Transylvanian
vampires. This problem should be discussed by both British and
Romanian governments in order to be resolved.
Firstly, Great Britain should educate the citizens the
consequences of the discrimination and also promote Romanian
culture and Romanians that have brought Britain great results in
various domains. By doing so, people could start removing
stereotypes and slowly find the truth about the nations they
discriminated. This should apply to all ages, not just the young
majority. Moreover, public figures should not be allowed to spread
negative stereotypes or use their position to influence others with
wrong information.
As for the Romanian government, there should be taken a variety
of actions against the discrimination towards Romanians. For
example, their culture and tourism should be better promoted in
other countries. Furthermore, creating travelling opportunities in
Romania for the British could help them change their opinion
about this nation. Collaborations between the two states against
discrimination would also minimize the battle of nations that is
happening at the moment.
To sum it up, changes should be made by both Romanian and
British governments in order to see results. This should also apply
to all the races that are discriminated in the United Kingdom, not
only Romanians, because if discrimination keeps existing, there
will never be equality.
