To whom it may concern, my senior service learning project Im deciding to pursue, involves
four walks, for four different organizations. Not only will I be involved, but I am asking my
cheer team to help and support. I am asking that they help me create a group/team to volunteer
and support any organization they choose to help with.
The organizations Ive chosen all have a special place in my heart. Race for the Cure is the first
organization I chose, that raises money and has a walk for breast cancer awareness. The last
organization is Smile on Down Syndrome. This group spreads awareness for Down syndrome
and brings happiness to these kids by doing events for them.
My mentor's name is Brandi Cloud. Mrs. Cloud is my cheer coach at Reitz High School. She has
been my cheer coach for three years now. She has organized a team of Reitz cheerleaders for
three years to walk in Race for the Cure.
In the end of this project I hope underclassman from the cheer team here at Reitz take on this
senior project and make it a sustainable program. I want the team to be helpful and supportive in
the community. I truly do hope by the end, the girls feel as though helping in the community is
fun and not a chore.
