MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD LIBRARIAN

First of all, I would like to thank the Editorial Board of ‘Our Argosy’ for giving
me the privilege and honour to pen this message.

When I started my secondary school life in MGS, Ipoh way back in 2004, little
did I realise that time flies with such an astonishing speed. It seems only yesterday when
I first walked through the portals of MGS.

Much water has indeed flown beneath the bridge since then. I still remember the
guiding hands of my ex-seniors and teachers when I first joined the Board of Librarians.
The numerous school activities have made my school life interesting and inspiring. I have
had the privilege of witnessing MGS celebrated its 110 anniversary.

I would like to thank all my fellow students and teachers for giving me such a
wonderful school life. It has been a journey of joy and happiness in the quest for
knowledge.

“There was a time I seemed to sail

upon a vast, blue sea
Scanning the horizon for
some distant, golden shore,
Imagining that happiness
lay ahead of me
in some wondrous perfect place
I’d never seen before;
But as the days and years passed by
I came to comprehend
that joy is the journeying,
not at the journey’s end.” - Dorothy Colgan

The ending of a scholastic year has brought with it a series of farewells. As I pass
through the portals of MGS for the last time, I treasure in my heart of hearts the fond and
sweet memories of the wonderful times I spent with my fellow librarians, students and all
my teachers. When parting, the French greet “au revoir” which means “to meet again”. It
is with this thought that I bid farewell to all my fellow librarians, students, friends and all
my teachers.
