NASPE Standard(s):
Standard 1 - Students will understand the importance of flexibility in Physical Education.
Standard 2 Students will demonstrate the given concepts and applications in their flexibility workout.
Standard 3 Students will show respect to themselves and others by demonstrating responsible behavior.
Standard 4 Students will acquire a greater knowledge of flexibility which will benefit their future.
Achievement Targets:
Students will understand the importance of stretching before physical activity. Students will successfully apply flexibility techniques to their given workout, sport or activity.
Special Planning/Preparations (i.e. safety concerns, etc.): Any students with injuries may sit out of the exercises if they desire to do so.
Some exercises may not be able to be fully stretched; students will give their best effort to stretch their muscles.
Procedures
Intro-Activity: Students will circle up and listen to a
brief message about the importance of flexibility.
