Dear Learner
Re: Learning behaviour and conduct
In September 2015, all GCSE learners agreed and signed up to Newham Adult Learning Service (NALS) stated
study requirements and expectations such as:

Being punctual
Submitting work on time
Meeting assignment and assessment deadlines
Undertaking and completing homework
Contributing to class tasks and activities
Regular attendance
Taking responsibility for own learning
Being respectful of and to other learners, tutors, centre staff and the course curriculum

Over recent weeks a number of reported incidents on the GCSE courses at Beckton Globe and Gainsborough
Learning Centre are, what can only be described as, poor standards of learning behaviour. Conduct as such,
have become unacceptable and has had a negative impact on the learning journey. Examples range from:
adverse Facebook comments, unfounded attacks on methods of teaching and learning, non-completion and
submission of set homework, alleged threatenining behaviour and non-cooperation with class tasks, activities
and groupings.
Please be advised, unsatisfactory behaviour and conduct described above or any other acts of this nature will not
be tolerated. If further instances of this kind are displayed and/or reported, management will have no recourse
other than to withdraw an individual or individuals from the GSCE programme.
