    The following comments are based on classroom visits, classroom walkthroughs and interactions with Miss Peterson. She has excellent rapport with the students because she frequently interacts with individual students in a positive and meaningful way. Miss Peterson has a wide variety of learning needs in her class but also has a large gap in social needs as well. This year she has shown her ability to meld all of her students' wide variations and levels of social understanding into a cohesive, positive and family oriented classroom.

    Myfollowingcommentsarebasedonclassroomvisits,classroomwalkthroughsand
    interactionswithMissPeterson.

    MissPetersoncreatesaverypleasant,positiveatmosphereintheclassroom.Shehas
    excellentrapportwiththestudentsbecauseshefrequentlyinteractswithindividual
    studentsinapositiveandmeaningfulway.Shehasanexcellentpresenceinthe
    classroom,andispoisedandconfidentwhenteaching.Herclassroommanagementis
    excellentandunobtrusive.ThestudentsrespectandlikeMissPeterson.

    MissPetersonisabletoreachchildrenwheretheyareandmovethemforwardin
    theireducation.HerclassconsistsofseveralstudentswhohaveIPPsandAPPs.Miss
    Petersonhasawidevarietyoflearningneedsinherclassbutalsohasalargegapin
    socialneedsaswell.Thisyearshehasshownherabilitytomeldallofherstudents
    widevariationsandlevelsofsocialunderstandingintoacohesive,positiveandfamily
    orientedclassroom.

    MissPetersonhasbeenstronginherroleofassessor,mentorandeducationalcoach
    toherstudentsespeciallythosewhostrugglewiththeconventionalwrittentestsand
    thusshewillincludevariousotherformsofassessment.Sheisabelieverinformative
    assessmentandprovidesmultipleopportunitiesforherstudentstofurthertheir
    understandingoftheconceptsbeingcovered.Shealsooffersawidevarietyof
    summativeassessmentsincludingprojects,postersanddemonstrations.Tofurther
    theassessment,shedoesaprecheckofstudentsunderstandingandknowledge
    baseofasubjectandoftenconnectsthattoliterature.Shethengoesontoadapther
    teachingandlessonsinordertoutilizestudentsunderstandingandknowledgebase
    ofasubjectandoftenconnectthattoliterature.

    Inasmanyareasaspossible,sheamalgamatesthestudentslevelsandlearning
    stylesseamlesslyintotheactivitiessomuchsothatanybystanderwouldnotknow

    lessonsandsupportingherstudentswiththeuseofourcollaborativeresponseteam.
