The article examines the relationship between employee creativity and extrinsic rewards and finds out that two conditions which are employee job complexity and employee cognitive style affect this relationship. Individuals with adaptive cognitive style and simple jobs had a direct ratio between job creativity and extrinsic rewards whereas employees with innovative cognitive styles and complex jobs had a weak relationship between rewards and creativity. It further shows that those with adaptive cognitive style but complex jobs had negative relationship between creativity and rewards as well as those with adaptive style and complex jobs.
