Thanks for listening to our speeches today. I've put together the
main points from mine in bullets for your review - hopefully makes
this a bit more palatable.

About myself
PGY-1 vascular surgery
Completed undergraduate BHSc at McMaster
medical school at McMaster
strong interest in education; learning & cognitive psych -> led to
interest in med/surgical education
interested in enriching/optimizing SF for the remainder of next 2
years
will enjoy taking an active approach to the role of rep
as previously mentioned, generally great and/or excellent at most
things (if not all) (jks)
Related previous experience
have led a number of educational initiatives throughout
undergraduate and medical school years
apart of Canmeds committee for delineating framework for the
manager/leader role
currently working with dean of MD program to optimize aspects of
the MD program curriculum
led the surgery interest group in medical school; hosted a number
of teaching events and skills workshops
enjoy keeping up to date and attending events on surgical
education; believe this would generate ideas that would be
valuable to contribute to meetings/our SF planning
Aims as an SF rep
at a minimum will serve as liaison between the SF committee and
ourselves (surgical residents)
Will ensure (and enjoy) taking an active participatory role at SF
meetings, representing our collective ideas, feedback and any
concerns
Would like to drive forward propositions to improve SF sessions;

ensure appropriate level of relevance and detail for our SF

lectures. Something that would be applied for the next 1.5 years
as we proceed with SF
Aim to start with a group session with all of us to chat
abut most useful lectures for the rest of the year; create
a plan accordingly
will gauge interest and accordingly push for more hands on
workshops
overall will be enthusiastic in taking on this role, approaching it in
an active manner with a genuine drive to improve SF for us as
well as future years
