To Whom It May Concern,

It is an honor to be writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Katie
Lehman. I have had the privilege of working with Ms. Lehman while she
completes her Early Childhood Special Education requirements for licensure.
Although I have only known her for a short time during her student teaching
experience, I feel I have gotten to know a person that I would highly
recommend as a substantial addition to the teaching profession.
Katie is a very hard working efficient team member who is energetic and
enthusiastic when working with the students in the classroom. She has
gotten to know each of the 30 students that make up our morning and
afternoon sessions on a personal level. She greets them each day and
engages them in comforting conversations. This rapport helps build an
inviting and productive educational environment in our inclusion classroom.
Ms. Lehman has demonstrated professionalism and knowledge when
diffusing and managing classroom behaviors. She implements universal
strategies for appropriate behaviors as learned in our buildings social
emotional curriculum of PBIS and PATHS.
She has created age appropriate lessons that are engaging and challenging
for all students enabling students to demonstrate their knowledge at
differentiated ability levels.
Katie is very organized which was apparent on our first meeting when she
presented me with an organizational binder with all important dates
highlighted and a timeline of important deadlines for our work together. She
is an effective collaborator as part of our classroom team and is professional
and friendly with all staff. She was able to assist in parent teacher
conferences during her student teaching experience and proved to be helpful
in building a positive connection with parents who have language other than
English as their home language.
She has impressed me with her energy and natural teaching ability and I
would recommend her for any position in Early Childhood Special Education.
