Inaugural Communication and Media Studies Conference held
at the University Center in Chicago
Chicago, Illinois- Common Ground Publishing, a company pioneering
the path in building innovative knowledge communities, will be hosting
their Inaugural Communication and Media Studies Conference on Sept.
15th and 16th of next year at the University Center in Chicago.
The theme at next years conference is Communication and Media
Studies: After the Internet? The Internet age has come to frame the
dominant challenges in contemporary communication and media
studies. There is a growing movement, emerging from the theory and
practices of digital art, asserting that we might be entering a PostInternet Era. The argument is not that the Internet age is over, but
that its current ubiquity and normalcy demands a rethinking of the
media and mediations of the Internet in our everyday lives.
The Inaugural Conference on Communication and Media Studies aims
to explore this claim. What are the challenges of Communication and
Media Studies After the Internet?' Speakers will explore themes in
Media Cultures, Media Theory, Media Technologies and Processes,
Media Business and Media Literacies.
