Dear Ms. Fagan:
I am writing to express interest in the recent job posting for Associate Consultant at Bain and Company
Incorporated. If you are looking for a team player with strong analytical and interpersonal skills, then
please give the attached resume consideration.
As per the Georgetown tradition of Cura Personalis, I have spent my three years of higher education
developing a diverse skill set. My degree Science Technology and International Affairs has taught me
to take a wide perspective, overlooking the intersection of many different disciplines on public policy.
For my major electives, I chose higher Math classes; two classes more and I would qualify for a math
Minor. Meanwhile, writing has always been a longstanding interest of mine, one that I have both
personally worked on and also passively improved due to the rigor of my Georgetown coursework.
But I think the most important thing I learned at Georgetown is the importance of being able to speak
in public. Ethics Bowl and the Philodemic Society have taught me the virtues of eloquent speech, but
their benefits do not end at pure oratory. From year to year, and internship to internship, I found that
my ability to empathize with and work with my employers and fellow interns increased proportionally
to my comfort with public speaking.
I am confident that the breadth of my exposure gives me the savoir faire necessary to pick up any of the
tasks required of me, but, even more importantly, to engage meaningfully with the people who make up
Bain and Company.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I hope I will have the chance to meet with you
personally to talk about my qualifications. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Jeremiah Fernandez
