How would you describe/define a system?

I would describe a system as a series of components working together to achieve


a certain goal. A database which can be accessed and edited to complete certain
tasks. Resources and processes combined to achieve a purpose.

How would you define information?

I would define information as data which has undergone a series of information


processes.

What are the information processes?

S- Storing/Retrieving

T- Transmit/Receive

D- Displaying

Define the relationship between data, information and knowledge.

Data, information and knowledge all interrelate. Information starts off as raw
data which then undergoes the information processes to become information,
knowledge is gained from information.

The difference between a personal information system and a group information


system:

The number of participants is the difference between a personal information


system and a group information system. A personal information system would
generally only have one participant whereas a group information system would
have a number of participants.

The process of accumulating data to be entered into an information system


and undergo information processes.

The information process that gathers data from the environment.

It includes:

- Knowing what data is required

- From where it will come

- How it will be gathered.
