Notebook 6: 2k

My first impression of the maps was the information that was provided was limited
to my topic of education. The information that was provided was direct and to the
point. The worldwide comparisons were quite surprising as compared with the US
secondary education based on youth and adults as opposed to other countries. The
data provided gives a broad perspective of how education, in countries were
economic and education are out of touch on importance. Some country depend on
income support of all able members whereas only one member may be allowed to
pursue secondary education. What was fascinating to me was the US was not in the
top statistics of secondary education rather Japan, China and India were. The world
mapper provided great maps that helped identify the world wide regional difference
between countries that was helpful to gain the visual knowledge. This information
gave me a better perspective of how opportunity for secondary education varies
worldwide.
