Now that you know all the notes, youll need to

know how to use them.
Everyone learning to play an instrument and to read music at the same
time faces a dual challenge: - 1. how to remember which fingers go where,
and 2. how to decipher the code of musical notation.

This vividly illustrated book and CD

package is suitable for children
aged between 5 and 11.

What Note is That?

Like training wheels on a

beginners bicycle,
note names inside the
note heads provide
reassurance and
prompting whilst children are learning other
aspects of music such as rhythm
and fingering

Clear fingering
illustrations show how to
play each new note.

Music theory is
introduced in short,
digestible chunks.

Colorful characters such as Ben the Bee and Ann the

Ant personalize the information, encouraging children
to engage with the notes the characters represent.

Easy songs to play give a feeling of achievement very quickly.

To help kids learn faster and make learning even more fun, there is a
CD containing a recording of every song and exercise in the book., 51
tracks in total .
A backing band plays each
piece twice - once with a recorder to demonstrate the
tune, then a 2nd time without
the recorder for them to play
along with.
Students can use the backing tracks as
an accompaniment when they wish to
play for family and friends. Tempos
are slow, but lively, so theyll find it
easy to keep up and still be able
to tap their foot.
To listen to a sample song,
George the Giraffe, click here.

Above all, the method is fun and

enjoyable. Children will play as
they learn, and learn as they
play.
