My art work is an acoustic guitar. I modeled it after a picture I found online but I changeé
\\, ita little bit to make it my own. I made the decision to make a guitar because I love music and I
(thought a guitar would be something different
| started the creation process by narrowing dawn my ideas to the guitar, and then I found
the picture that was closest to what I wanted. After I sketched the guitar and decided what
« functions I was going to use for each part. Once I started making the art I realized that most of
+ the functions I previously choose didn’t work out but I just compromised. For each function I
plotted the function, then made the appropriate transformation, then restricted the domain.
‘One specific function was the inverse cosine function that was at the front of the guitar. I
choose this function because I knew part of it curved slightly to the top left and it would fit
perfectly where I needed it. Another function was the sine function at the end of the guitar. I
knew I could make this function go the opposite direction of the inverse sine, so it would work
since it’s on the opposite side of the guitar. I used linear functions to represent the strings
because I needed a function that would be strait and horizontal, Lastly I choose to use an
absolute function at the very front of the guitar because I needed a straight line that didn’t need
to be horizontal or vertical.Sara Neveda
