Students are on day 4 of learning about line plots. They have previously generated their own data by rolling a
dice and plotting the data on a line plot, they have also taken measurements of objects and plotting the data on
a line plot.

interaction, feedback):
I do: teacher will model the action of measuring a pencil to the nearest of an inch and plotting the data on a
line plot.
We do: Students will work with their own pencils while the teacher models step by step of measuring the
pencils.

PRACTICE/APPLICATION (meaningful activities, interaction, strategies, feedback):


You do: Students will work with partners and measure 8 pencils and plotting the data on the line plot. Teacher
will circulate the room and provide immediate feedback and assistance to the students that are struggling or
receive accommodations/services in Math.

REVIEW/ASSESSMENT (review objectives and vocabulary, assess learning):


Teacher will analyze the line plots for accuracy. Teacher will assess the students usage of vocabulary through
conversations.

EXTENSION:
Students who complete their assignment ahead of time will also complete the To the nearest and inch
enrichment worksheet.
