Concept

The intepretation of languages is the activity that involves transmitting an

oral or sign language speech.

The dicipline, process and result of the interpretation are called traductology.

An interpreter is the person responsable for the interpretation, which

consists of transmitting the message of the original speech.

Translation versus Interpretation

Translation:

This term refers to the conveyance in writing, and looks up different sources
like: Dictionaries, glossaries, similar texts, etc

Interpretation:

Usually held in person and very quickly, the interpreter is a direct witness of the
source speech

HISTORY

Despite interpretation is known as the second oldest prefession in the world.

The use of interpreter in Spain is documented at least since sexteenth

century.

In the 1920s of the twentieth century, the first simultaneous interpretation

experiments were held; this kind of interpretation was used for the first time
during the Nuremberg trials.

On the other hand, consecutive interpretation is not currently only used for
conferences, but also in the telephone conferences and videoconferences
