Daikin to Release VRV H Series with Higher

Heating Capacity
2015/12/27
From February 1, Daikin will release its Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV)
H series of high-efficiency building air conditioners for cold climates
capable of exhibiting improved energy-saving performance when the outside
temperature is low. The H series consists of 11 models with capacity from
22.4 kW to 95.0 kW.
Thanks to the adoption of the new intermediate injection circuit for the
refrigerant circuit, the new models can exhibit high heating capacity even
when the outside temperature is low. That is, they can maintain the rated
heating capacity even when the outside temperature is -15. Furthermore,
even in a cool and humid environment where frost tends to accumulate on
the outdoor unit causing performance to drop, the H series can exhibit
heating capacity about 15% higher than the previous series. Thus, the new
series can perform stable heating operation across a wide temperature range.
Additionally, by adopting a newly developed system during defrost
operation, the new series prevents temporary drops in indoor temperature
during defrost operation to offer a significant improvement in comfort
during heating operation. Also, by optimizing the timing of starting defrost
operation, the new series can offer continuous heating operation for many
hours at a time.
The series adopts a higher efficiency compressor and refrigerant control
technology that grasps the necessary load in real time and thereby prevents
excessive cooling or heating. This allows the VRV H series to realize a
noticeable improvement in efficiency in the spring and autumn when the air
conditioning load is low. Moreover, the new series realizes about a 60%
reduction in standby power, about an 18% reduction in annual power
consumption, and attains an Annual Performance Factor (APF) of 5.9 (8-hp
system). These improvements give the H series the industrys top-class
energy-saving performance of building air conditioners for cold climates in
every capacity range.
In addition to the VRV H series, Daikin
will also release the VRV QH series,
consisting of 9 models in capacities from
22.4 kW to 77.5 kW. The QH series can
use existing piping at the time of
replacement, thus reducing the quantity
of piping materials and shortening the
installation process. Daikin intends to

target building air conditioner replacement demand in cold climate regions

with the new series.
