Objectives
Students will describe how to perform a chest pass with a basketball in
writing

Learning Activities
As a class write an example of a detailed description on a activity. This can
be made up on the spot by students and teacher or maybe how to make a
peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
The students will write a detailed description on how to perform a chest pass.
They will be prompted to think about all the steps that they need to perform
in order to complete a chest pass in basketball.
The class will then move to the gym or outside where they will be put into
groups and the students will then read their description. The other students
will then preform it as they describe it. (They need to read it as written)
The students will rewrite their description to fix any gaps that they left out in
their original writing.

Assessment
Teacher will keep anecdotal records of students as they perform their tasks in
groups.
Students will hand in their paper with their description.
