Winston and Julia betray each other

to save themselves, which not only ends their
relationship but also their own sense of dignity,
individuality and it destroys their personal principles.
How realistic do you think this is? Do people say to
each other they would do anything for their lover,
when in fact this is closer to romantic myth than
reality. When push comes to shove are we all
likely to do the same under duress
like torture?
