Objective
Students will be able to list 5 ancient groups and their
contributions to healthcare.
2. Big Understanding
Historical civilizations, facts and events are
significant in understanding the health care industry.
Important to know where healthcare started, how it is
presently and what is next.
3. Assessment Evidence
Travel back in time and explore ancient beliefs and
contributions to healthcare today.
Students will be able to match contributions to the
civilization.
4. Opening Hook
Play a short video of healthcare fun facts.
5. Instructional Strategies/Activities

Have students imagine and listen to ancient beliefs


and contributions of five historic civilizations in
regards to healthcare and how they have influenced
todays healthcare.
Post pictures of ancient groups and era on the board,
have a student come up and read out loud
contributions and stick it next to where they/the class
feels it belongs.
I will cover each groups main beliefs and
contributions with an informative list.
After discussing each group we will go back and look
to see if the students guess was right.
Main focus is on contributions to healthcare
