Encouraging and equipping

your youthwork

I pray that your partner

ship with us in the fai
th may be effective
in deepening your un
derstanding of every
go
od thing we
share for the sake of Ch
rist. Your love has give
n me great joy
and encouragement,
because you, brother,
ha
ve refreshed the
hearts of the Lords pe
ople.

Philemon 1:6-7

"Encouragement is like oxygen to the human spirit.

Don't forget you are carrying someone else's air. Encourage them;
help them breathe!"
Encouragement is free! Encouragement is easy! Encouragement
does not require a qualification! Encouragement has great power!
Encouragement can be done anywhere in anyway!
Then why do we not encourage one another more?
I think one of the reasons I love encouraging people is because I
have experienced immense encouragement myself. Not a week
goes by when someone hasn't affirmed me in my gifts and calling,
or thanked me for something I've done, or indeed
pointed out how God used me to bless them. The
words in Philemon give this great sense of unity
and blessing. That our time together should be
full of joy, encouragement, refreshment and love.
But more than that these words give a
sense of journeying, of stocking up on
encouragement so that when a tough day
comes we can still stand.
I challenge you today to find someone to
purposefully and intentionally
encourage. In doing so I guarantee you
will be blessed, refreshed and have a
deepening understanding of Jesus!

G o d a t wo r k :
Fuel continues to be hugely encouraging and a time of real community
and worship for the young people that come. Also last Sunday we had a
time of response where a young guy gave his life to Jesus!!!!!! God is so
good!
Our 7-11's weekend was superb and we had a blast with 46 kids. Apart
from loads of fun playing games, doing craft and singing, we had a great
time looking at the theme 'being lost, being found, being free' - while
watching a little bit of Finding Nemo!
God continues to provide the resources we need to serve Him, regular
and surprise donations from churches and individuals have blessed us
hugely this month
In January we had ran a wine tasting evening as a fundraiser. We were so
thankful for the 93 people that came and enabled us to raise over 6500!!
Wow!. Thank you also to Heidi, Chris, Tracy and the team who looked after
our food and drink for the evening. Thank you also to all those who came,
donated auction items, bought raffle tickets and made it an amazing night!
We are still here! We still feel called to serve the local church! There is
great unity amongst those who work with children and young people and
for this we praise God and give thanks
Scholtz, who is the Youth and Community Worker at St Mark's Colney
Heath, is moving on to a new job in Scotland. We give thanks for all he has
done and pray for God to use Scholtz mightily in his new role

Upcoming events:
On Saturday 5th March we have our trustees away day, and then on the
following Tuesday we have a trustees meeting, pray for excitement as we
look forward and for wisdom as we make decisions
Pray for X:site St Albans which happens on Saturday March 19th. Pray for
the leaders as they plan and prepare and pray that kids will hear about the
event and want to come. Pray that the 36 that came last time will want to
return with a friend
FUEL - we are having a 'special' Fuel as it is almost Easter. We have invited
a few older young people to watch 'The Passion of the Christ' with us and
then discuss it over supper. This will be followed by our usual Fuel event.
Pray we would 'see' the Easter story in a new way
'More?' is running for 5 weeks until 21st March, pray for good
conversations as we talk about topics such as 'extremism' and 'sex'
Pray for the preparation of 3 significant events for 267: Inflatable Assault
Course-Athon' Fundraiser (11th April), 'The CORE' Conference (22nd-23rd
April) and the 11-14's Weekend Away (6th-8th May)
Also please pray for:
Pray for Mike as he balances all the elements of his role as Director of
the267project, pray as well for the important role of husband and father
Trustee meetings. We also are seeking some new trustees as we see the
ministry grow and need additional resources to be able to continue all we
are doing and invest in new areas
Pray for the team of Tracy, Claire and Mike as they work together and each
play their part in the ministry of 267
Pray for time to meet with leaders and bring encouragement and insight
Pray for rest over the Easter break
