Agriculture is the leading factor of Afghan economy (though only
10% of the land is cultivated).
Contributes to international illegal drug trade by producing poppies.
Rich in rare minerals and oils.
Extremely high unemployment - about 40%
Poor communication & transportation method due to undeveloped

Health Geography
Deforestation causes land slides, flash floods, shortage of food, and
damages the economy.
Endangered species such as white-headed duck, imperial eagle, corncrake
and etc.
Improvements in water system thanks to dam building (but still poor water
quality).

Political Geography
War against USA damaged most of the land making the
land unusable.
Nuclear contract with Pakistan has made 10% of the
countrys land to be unusable.
Dam buidling project has revived the dying dry land into
grazing land that can be used for live-stock raising.
