A pesar del despliegue de tropas y operativos en Jalisco o en Michoacén, y en otras regiones del pals, que han derivado en
balaceras, bloqueos, quema de autobuses y atentados contra el Ejércitoy la Policia Federal, los objetivos de las fuerzas del

El funcionario consultado dijo a MILENIO que distintas voces han tratado de vincular estos incidentes como operativos dirigidos

NARRATIVE:
1. On May 22, 2015, Mexican Federal Police engaged in a gunfight with alleged members of the Cartel de Jalisco
Nueva Generacién (CING) at the rural ranch El SOL (the Sun), located in the state of Michoacén. After three
hours of confrontation, 42 suspects were killed and one (1) federal police officer was reported killed.
2, Federal Police representatives stated they were conducting patrolling activities near the ranch EL SOL and
spotted a white truck with heavily armed individuals who started shooting at the federal forces, At the same
time, the suspects drove away leading the police forces to the ranch previously mentioned where the major gun
fight took place, Federal Police members further stated that due to the large amount of suspects inside the ranch,
who were also heavily armed, they requested air support.

(U/LES) On May 22, 2015, Mexican Federal Police engaged in a gunfight with alleged
