Assignment Brief
You have to select an organisation of your choice and evaluate the effectiveness of performance and
reward strategy by addressing the following:

Critically conduct research to explore the complexities of managing performance in an


organisation and investigate how an effective strategy could enable the case organisation
management team to define and execute their strategy.

Critically evaluate how performance management operates as a form of reward with particular
reference to the case organisation current rewards practices.

Suggest an appropriate performance and rewards management system. Explain how this will help
the case organisation to improve its performance.

Guidance
In writing this assignment you are expected to use appropriate and relevant
literature on performance management and reward management.
Question 1
Your selected organisation becomes the case study upon which the assessment
is based. You should outline the background information about the organisation.
Introduce the organisation and present how performance management and
reward management are currently delivered. Analyse and present the synthesis
of your finding.
Remember that organisation environment s and business strategy impact of the
way the organisation manages its performance and reward strategies. Think
about the vertical integration concepts. How might the organisation integrate its
business and performance management systems?
Question 2
Critically evaluate how the PM operates as a form of reward (non-financial and
financial). Is the current performance management of the case organisation
linked to its reward strategy? Explain why or why not using appropriate and
relevant literature. Your appraisal should draw on the reward management
literature and its linkage to performance management.
Question 3
After the above analyse you are asked to make some recommendation for
improve in the case organisation. What can be improved in the ways the case
organisation conduct its performance management or reward strategies?
