Nurses’ Day 2010

Celebrating the work of nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants

12 May – Postgraduate medical centre,


Epsom from 12noon – 2pm.
The Trust, in partnership with the Royal College of Nursing (RCN),
cordially invites Trust nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants to
a celebration of their work.
12noon – 2pm, RCN resource stall, with free pens, gifts and
Conference room 1: refreshments.

12.15pm – 12.45pm, Clinical nurse specialist Amena Warner, and Sally


Lecture theatre: Sivas, head of midwifery, on their teams’ award-winning
work with the Trust. Plus last year’s winner, midwife
Maggie George, talks about her year.

12.45pm – 1pm, Chief Executive Samantha Jones presents the Nurse /


Lecture theatre: midwife of the year award, and the Healthcare assistant
of the year award. This is followed by cutting of the
celebration cake.

1pm – 1.10pm, High impact nursing and midwifery by deputy director


Lecture theatre: of nursing, Lisa Knight.

1.10pm – 1.50pm, Pain management, with clinical nurse specialist Sharon


Lecture theatre: Gilshenan.

1.50 – 1.55pm, Questions and closing remarks.

Free complementary therapy sessions


There will also be free complementary therapy sessions at Epsom and St Helier:

St Helier: 11am – 4pm, 11 May, postgraduate medical centre


Epsom: 10.30am – 4.30pm, 12 May, undergraduate resource room

St Helier celebration
The celebration at St Helier will take place on 11 May, including cakes being delivered
to all wards, and an RCN resources stall with free advice from from 2.15pm – 5pm in
the postgraduate medical centre.
