A walk in the park.

They had met by chance in the Sweet Caf coffee bar as he was going in so she
was leaving. On seeing her had fallen over his feet. On the floor stunned he had felt
a hand on his arm that numbed every part of his body. She helped him back onto his
feet.

Smiling with embarrassment on his part they had both said Sorry. They laughed,
and looked at each other. He felt devoured by this smile of hers and couldnt speak.
A voice behind her said Her name is Delva, give me your phone.

That was Wednesday evening. In the coffee bar he had sat glued to his phone
ignoring the world. In his phone was her name Delva, a beautiful name. In his eyes
was her face, so, very beautiful.

Thursday, trembling he had called her. She had said that she didnt date strangers,
yet here they were side by side. The impossible had become a walk in the park. The
wind blew swirling the cold rain into their faces. Daringly he took her hand. She
looked at him, smiled and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. He breathed a sigh of
silent relief.

Her eyes were they brown? Were they blue? He didnt know. Was she brunette? Was
she blond? He didnt know. What did it matter? She was there at his side. Who was
she? Again he didnt know. Again it didnt matter. Alone in the park, he was with her.
There was just one small problem.
His shoes were new and every step he took made his feet ache.
