India is one of the worlds largest producers of rice. Although rice


consumption has dropped, India has still maintained a stable production. The
Indian government has implemented several policies to aid The Indian

and food, are available. The government subsidizes agricultural inputs to keep
farm costs low and increase production. Rice from India accounts for 20% of the
worlds rice, and it produces rice second only to China.

So in conclusion, rice production has dropped from 2014 to 2015 and as a result
export has dropped. Thailand has surpassed India as the biggest rice exporter.
Yet, rice raised and domestic consumption has increased so it might be India is
hogging rice for themselves lol.
