Method Statement of Asphalt Work

Application of 90 (Ninety) mm thick Asphalt including prime coat and tack coat.
When the designated surface being ready, prime coat work then proceeds with Asphalt
Sprayer. Prime coat is as the adhesive join between asphalt and to be asphalt-applied
surface.
The surface in this term means it does not have adhesion like Class A surface and
concrete slab surface.
Prime coating work shall be done in hot/dry weather. When ready, the first layer of hot
mixed asphalt can proceed. Pouring Hot mixed asphalt is applied with Asphalt finisher and
then is compacted by Tire Roller before receiving final compaction with Tandem Roller.
After the first layer of Hot mixed asphalt is done, tack coat begins. This work consists of
cleaning existing asphalt surface which is to be overlaid. Pouring is given on the top of
asphalt or concrete as tack coat works as adhesive layer. When this is ready, the second
layer of hot mixed asphalt shall apply. The work step of this is the same with it of the first
layer.
The traffic safety is managed by the provision of marking tape (red and white in color)
and use of road signs. This is to ensure that traffic and roads are still safely accessible
during the work progress for the sake of tenant and user convenience.
A flag man is made available at the crossway to control the traffic. When there is
trenching or digging work which needs dump trucks reversing position such safe control
will be provided for other objects at the rear side that keeps them free from being
hit/damaged.
