FROM THE DIRECTORS Since my first semester of freshman year, ! knew that | wanted to direct a play for my senior project. Then, in my second semester, | thought that the play should be one that is meaningful to me and that’s when the idea of The Diary of Anne Frank surfaced. This show is incredibly important to me for a multitude of reasons. My dad has been in the show twice, Anne Frank is a dream role of mine, I'm Jewish, and my Bubbie Frances was a Holocaust survivor. She unfortunately died the year before | was born so | never got to meet her. By directing this play it doesn’t just make me feel closer to her, I'm also doing a tribute for her. | decided last year that the performances would be dedicated to her and the six million Jews who did not survive. This show is done in honor of The Frank family, The van Pels family, Fritz Pfeffer, and Miep Gies who protected the eight members during their two years in hiding. 2 Shilkoff, Director | am beyon the assistant director for su zing project and play. | have been in more than fifteen theatre productions, such as South Pacific and the Wiz, but this is my first time directing. I'm excited to undertake many more directing opportunities in the future and would like to thank Melissa and Mrs. Albertson for their faith in me to help make this play great. -Hannah Thacker, Assistant Director
