Overview/Purpose
The purpose for this lesson is to teach the students how to bubble in the grid
for math for the AZmerit test.

How do I put a whole number into the grid?
How do I put a fraction into the grid?

Lesson Sequence/Procedures
1. I will start by using an anticipatory set reminding the students of filling
in bubbles on tests.

2. I will then have them think about a time when they have filled in
bubbles as I pass out the grid worksheets.
3. I will explain the task analysis, that we will be learning how to fill out
the grids that they will see on their AZMerit tests.
4. I will then model filling out one of the grids with a fraction.
5. We will then do guided practice as a whole class filling out one of the
grids.
6. After guided practice I will have them do independent practice of filling
out the grid with specific problems that I provide.
7. At the end, I will pull the class together and we will discuss what they
learned today.
Review/Assessment
I will assess the students understanding from their independent practice and
by walking around as they are independently practicing to check for
understanding.
