My name is Nikolas Morrison-Welch and as a student of Santa Susana High School i
have chosen to do a senior project. Throughout high school my interest and passions have always been focused around science. Senior projects gave me the opportunity to explore that passion and channel it through new facets. I decided that teaching would be a great way to broaden my perspective and a young adult and experience what it's like on the other side of the table. Each step along the journey was long and hard but in the end it was well worth it. After high school my dream is to go into medicine and become a GP, working with individuals and families to help improve their lives, physically in any way i can. I was probably inspired to follow this path because of my mother who is a physicians assistant; and having seen her work long and hard hours at childrens hospital, decided that i myself wanted to do the very same thing. To do this i have given myself wholly the cause of helping others and have prepared to work in this field by taking a nursing assistant class and interning at Victoria Medical Care Center. Ive also chosen to take classes like AP psychology to aide in my understanding of patients and what they are experiencing psychologically and biologically. I invite you to peruse through my portfolio and examine the work ive done. Ive put in months of work and given up hours of sleep to present this to you today. I hope that this, my capstone project, is a testament not only to what ive learned and what ive done, but also, what i hope to do. Sincerly, Nikolas Morrison-Welch
