Beam Detailing Installation Manual

Introduction

This manual is to help the users to install the Beam Detailing Package in Windows systems.
New users must read this document carefully. About how to use Beam Detailing software is
described in the User Manual Document.
This manual provides a guide for the user to install the Beam Detailing package that contains
two software:
Beam DetailingGenerator (BDG): An executable software works in Windows environment.
This software will be installed by running the BeamDetailingInstaller.exe.
Beam Detailer (BD): This software works in AutoCAD environment and will be automatically
extracted in the installation folder of BeamDetailingInstaller.exe
The available versions of Beam Detailing on the website are standalone versions, can be used by
one user on one machine. For any need of a network version, this can be done by sending an
email to support@sespid.com.
Note: Before starting with this manual, make sure you have the BeamDetailingInstaller by
creating an account on www.sespid.com and order the trial version of Beam Detailing
Package.
For any further support you can always send an email with a screenshot of the warning
message to support@sespid.com

Install BeamDetailingInstaller.exe

Download and Install BeamDetailingInstaller.exe

The executable file BeamDetailingInstaller.exe can be downloaded by any user that

has an account in the website www.sespid.com , after creating the account:
The user has to add Beam Detailing Package-Trial Version to his cart.
After adding the trial version to the cart and processing to checkout, the user will
receive an email that has a link to download the BeamDetailingInstaller.exe.This link
is valid for 30 days. The file will be downloaded in the auto download path. Once the
download is completed, the user can run the installer as shown in Figure 1

If the message in Figure 2 appeared, the user has to click on More Info button, and press on Run
anyway as shown in Figure 3

The window in Figure 4 will appear, click Next

Installation folder path must be selected as shown in Figure 5, this is the folder where the Beam
Detailing package will be extracted.

Beam Detailing must be selected to start the installation as shown in Figure 6

Next step is to select a menu where the shortcut of Beam Detailing will be created as shown in
Figure 7.

The installation will start next as shown in Figure 8.

The installation will be completed when the next figure appeared, click Finish

2.1.2

Activate Beam Detailing Generator:

The installed version of Beam Detailing is a trial version and must be activated before
activating any commercial version.
The user will receive an email with two activation keys and one order number to
activate the trial version as shown in Figure 10.

By going to the installation folder where the Beam Detailing package was installed (Figure 11),
a shortcut of Beam Detailing.exe can be send to the desktop. Double click on
BeamDetailing.exe, the user interface in Figure 12 will appear.

Click on tools > activate > the window in Figure 13will appear, the activation keys must
be entered as well as the order number> click Activate, the message in Figure 14 must
be appeared. The trial version is now activated.

When the activation message is appeared, the user interface will get activated. This trial version is
valid for only15 days for the software ETABS, RISA 3D and SAP 2000.

To activate any commercial license such as ETABS SAP 2000 or RISA 3D, the same procedure
of activating the trial version must be followed.

After purchasing any license from the website www.sespid.com.The activation keys and the order
number of the commercial license will be sent to the user in a special email .This license is valid
for 365 days and allows the user to use the software without any limitations. The user must enter
the activation keys in the Activation window with correct order for KEY 1 and KEY 2.

Note: The activation of any version of Beam Detailing (trial or commercial) must be
done online. It means the computer must be connected to the internet during the
activation operation. Otherwise the message in Figure 17will appear. If this message
appeared or any similar message even if the computer is connected, please try again by
closing the software and launch it again.
Note: Trial or commercial license are standalone license and can be used by only one
user on one machine (same machine always).If the user wants to change the machine
where the software is installed, this can be done by sending a request to
support@sespid.com .

Beam Detailer Software

Beam Detailer software will be extracted in the Beam Detailing installation folder as
shown in Figure 11. BeamDetailer -ETABS and SAP 2000 folder contains the two
main files (two pairs to be used based on the language of AutoCAD) as shown in Figure
18

BD-V1.2-ES.fas can be anywhere in the computer, and must be loaded at each AutoCAD
session. For more help about how to use this software, please read the User Manual
document.
BD-V1.2-ES.DCL must be copied to AutoCAD support path, this path can be like:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2012\Support
For English Version of AutoCAD you have to use the English version of
BD V1.2-ES.fas and BD V1.2-ES.DCL for Spanish Version of AutoCAD you have to
use the Spanish version of BD V1.2-ES.fas and BD V1.2-ES.DCL
For more information about the AutoCAD support file path you can go to Option in
AutoCAD > Files, as shown in Figure 19

In case the user couldnt copy and paste the DCL files to the path of AutoCAD support
files, or if the user received an error message during launching the software, next figure
helps to solve this problem.
