About project:

The idea of the project is development of winter sports in Sigulda and

making this city as a capital of the winter sport types.
In the Sport and active leisure centre Sigulda, skiing is available for
varying length and difficulty levels (beginner to expert) 1-4 km, 1-2 km,
700 m and 200 m active skiing for all levels of experience. In addition, the
Sigulda sports and active leisure centre is available and open for
both visitors and returning members. the sports and recreational complex
includes ski rental and other services, Visitors may also have access the
cross country ski routs as well.
this project has been starting from December of 2013 and is still
continuining now. budget is 850 000 EuR.
I want to pay your attention to the fact that, One of the latest sites in
Latvias winter sports capital is the frozen cros-country skiing track, which is
unique throughout Northern Europe. the next step in the tracks
development will be its exstension to the ancient Gauja valley !

Kordes track - One of the extreme slopes in Latvia. Length of long

slope is 275 m and altitude difference is 84 m. Tracks are equipped with
comfortable and rapid ski-lift and two different tracks black and red.
Pilsta track - Most active, longest and widest ski track in Latvia with
two 350 and 200 m long well illuminated tracks. Between tracks there is 90
m vertical rise. All major Latvian competitions take place directly on this
slope. Latvian unofficial speed record for mountain skis were set on our ski
slope 112 km / h.
Bobsleigh and Luge track Sigulda - 1420 meters, 16 curves and a
200 m long braking distance - these parameters of Sigulda bobsleigh and
luge track can be experienced not only by professional athletes, but also by
every visitor of Sigulda.
