AmendmentI
Congressshallmakenolawrespectinganestablishmentofreligion,orprohibitingthefree
exercisethereof:orabridgingthefreedomofspeech,orofthepress:ortherightofthepeople
peaceablytoassemble,andtopetitiontheGovernmentforaredressofgrievances.
AmendmentII
AwellregulatedMilitia,beingnecessarytothesecurityofafreeState,therightofthepeopleto
keepandbearArms,shallnotbeinfringed.
AmendmentIII
NoSoldiershall,intimeofpeacebequarteredianyhouse,withouttheconsentoftheOwner,
norintimeofwar,butinamannertobeprescribedbylaw.
AmendmentIV
Therightofthepeopletobesecureintheirpersons,houses,papers,andeffects,against
unreasonablesearchesandseizures,shallnotbeviolated,andnoWarrantsshallissue,but
uponprobablecause,supportedbyOathoraffirmation,andparticularlydescribingtheplaceto
besearched,andthepersonsorthingstobeseized.
AmendmentV
Nopersonshouldbeheldtoanswerforacapital,orotherwiseinfamouscrime,unlessona
presentmentorindictmentofaFrand
Jury,exceptincasesarisinginthelandornavalforces,orintheMilitia,wheninactualservice
intimeofWarorpublic
danger:norshallanypersonbesubjectforthesameoffencetobedeprivedoflife,liberty,or
property,withoutdueprocessoflaw:norshallprivatepropertybetakenforpublicuse,without
justcompensation.
AmendmentVI
Inallcriminalprosecutions,theaccusedshallenjoytherighttoaspeedyandpublictrial,byan
impartialjuryoftheStateand
districtwhereinthecrimeshallhavebeencommitted.whichdistrictshallhavebeenpreviously
ascertainedbylaw,andtobe
processforobtainingwitnessesinhisfavor,andtohavetheAssistanceofCounselforhis
defence[sic]
AmendmentVII
Insuitsatcommonlaw,wherethevalueincontroversyshallexceedtwentydollars,therightof
trialbyjuryshallbepreserved,andnofacttriedbyajury,shallbeotherwisereexaminedinany
CourtoftheUnitedStates,thanaccordingtotherulesofthecommonlaw.
AmendmentVIII
Excessivebailshallberequired,norexcessivefinesimposed,norcruelandunusual
punishmentsinflicted.
AmendmentIX
TheenumerationintheConstitutionofcertainrights,shallnotbeconstruedtodenyor
disparageothersretainedbythepeople.
AmendmentX
ThepowersnotdelegatedtotheUnitedStatesbytheConstitution,norprohibitedbyittothe
States,arereservedtotheStatesrespectively,ortothepeople.
