Every 10 Seconds, A Child Dies of Malnutrition

Statistics
- 17 million children are currently suffering
- 54% of childhood deaths.
- 12.9% of the population is undernourished
- Malnourished Adults earn at least 20% less on average

Causes

Malnutrition is lack of nutrients


Unbalanced diets
certain diseases
neonatal disease, acute respiratory infection, diarrhoeal diseases, malaria,
measles , HIV/AIDS and other digestive diseases.
Lack of food/water

Effects of Malnutrition
Malnutrition can cause:

pale skin
weakness and fatigue
trouble breathing
heart palpitations
depression
menstruation issue
fainting
poor concentration

Window of Opportunity
The first two years of a childs life are a critical window of
opportunity. It is possible to prevent the largely irreversible
damage from childhood undernutrition and malnutrition in
general.
