CARE PLAN
1, Medical History: (systemic conditions altering treatment, pre-medication, medical
clearance) explain steps to be taken to minimize or avoid occurrence, effect on dental
hygiene diagnosis and/or care.
WERE 5s 6-26 year old male with no systemic conditions or previous surgeries that
require treatment to be altered, pre-medication, or medical clearance from a physician,
does not have any known allergies and he does not smoke or drink alcohol.
did not list a general physician MMMM’ not the under the current
care of a physician but, he stated his last physical was July 27, 2015 and his general
health is excellent.
At the initial exam his blood pressure was recorded as 122/78. This is considered to be
prehypertensve blood pressure. Having prehypertensive blood pressure can lead to iD
(@BRAEB taking medications to help stabilize his blood pressure. Taking medications can
sometimes lead to the patient having xerostomia. With (AMM alrcady having a
complaint of having chronic dry mouth, added xerostoma from medication puts him more
at risk from his periondontal disease to become aggressive, Without salvia the oral cavity
it more at risk for bacterial growth which leads to infections. To ensure that his blood
pressure does not elevate to the levels of needing medication AAI can become
more active by exercising, By exercising will help with blood pressure and decreasing
stress levels eaused by school. All other vitals were within normal limits
2. Dental History: (past dental disease, response to treatment, attitudes, dental 1.Q.,
chief complaint, present oral hygiene habits, effect on dental hygiene diagnosis and/or
care)
MBB rently does not have a Dentist in the Beaumont area, His last dental visit
was in 2014 for a general cleaning with a Dentist in California, He stated that he has not
had any serious problems with previous dental treatment, JIG could not recall
the last time he had any dental x-rays taken. His main reason for coming into the clinic
was for a general and deep cleaning. He stated he feels the appearance of is tecth/smile
is bad. He also stated that he has bad breath, his bad breath he feels that he needs a deep
cleaning. QMEEBEB made no complaints of his gums bleeding or sensitivity to his
teeth, He did state that he has a decreased salivary flow in his mouth at all times. He does
not chew any type of gum. He also drinks 2 sugar-containing beverages daily. |
recommended 10 QAR that he should drink more water and chew sugarless pum. 1
explained to him that water could help keep his mouth moist and gum can help stimulate
saliva. Having moisture in the mouth can help reduce the risk of periodontal disease from
progressing
